Abraham Samad detained for document forgery

T

he South and West Sulawesi Police officially arrested former commissioner with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Abraham Samad, for document forgery after a lengthy questioning on Tuesday.

'€œWe detained him as we are afraid that he will run away and repeat his actions,'€ South and West Sulawesi Police'€™ chief of detectives for general crime Sr. Comr. Joko Hartanto said in Makassar, South Sulawesi, as quoted by kompas.com.

He then added that since Abraham had been detained, the investigators would hand over his dossiers to prosecutors.

Abraham was named a suspect for document forgery on Feb. 17 for allegedly helping a resident of Pontianak, West Kalimantan, Feriyani Lim, obtain a fake ID and family card to apply for a passport at the Makassar Immigration Office. (fsu/nvn)
