Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika is optimistic that Bali can attract 30 million foreign tourists by 2029. Pastika submitted on Wednesday a tourism roadmap for 2014 to 2029 to Bali councilors, highlighting the resort island'€™s capacity to receive the surge in travelers. Bali welcomes around 3 million foreign tourists annually.

Your comments:

When I was living in Asia for some years I went to Singapore to do my shopping and so did many other Asians and people from many other countries around the world. That is one reason Singapore makes lots of money from shoppers. I would not go to Bali to do any shopping and I don'€™t like cheap alcohol and drugs with loud music and wild partying.

Are you serious? Currently, traffic jams are already horrible and let'€™s not mention the water crisis in southern Bali. Singapore is a port city. It'€™s a transit point. Is Bali in the same league? No. Do I want Bali to become like Singapore? No. Well, to a certain extent, yes (i.e. provision of public transportation, waste management, water management, efficient bureaucracy).

Mr. Governor, Singapore is geared for this level of visitors; Bali is not. Singapore gets rid of garbage; Bali does not. Singapore does not have a lot of drug pushers running around; Bali has.

Singapore can barely handle that many tourists. The MRT is breaking down more often because of the number of passengers, etc.
