rsa Supit, a member of the team of lawyers working for Nigerian death row inmate Raheem Agbaje Salami, on Tuesday showed a hand-written letter, written by Salami'€™s girlfriend, Angela, and addressed to President Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo, to journalists gathered at the Wijayapura quay in Cilacap, Central Java, on Tuesday.

In her letter, Angela begged President Jokowi to forgive Salami and cancel his execution.

'€œGood morning everyone. As Raheem'€™s girlfriend, I beg Mr. Joko Widodo and all Indonesians to stop the execution. They are good people and they deserve a second chance. Please forgive them. Please forgive them and stop these executions. My boyfriend and I do love all of them. I beg all of you to stop these executions. Love, Angela," it reads, as quoted by Antara.

Salami is one of nine death row inmates facing imminent executions. The eight others are two Australians, namely Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran; two other Nigerians, namely Silvester Obiekwe Nwaolise alias Mustofa and Okwudili Oyatanze; Zainal Abidin from Indonesia, Rodrigo Gularte from Brazil, Martin Anderson alias Belo from Ghana and Mary Jane Fiesta Veloso from the Philippines.
