lores: Located in Moni village, Ende regency, Flores, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Kelimutu Lake reportedly changed color on the morning of April 25.
The Nuwa Muri Ko'o Fai section of the lake, which was blue earlier, changed to milky white, while the Ata Polo section changed from green to red and the Ata Bupuyang section from black to green.
The matter was reported by Kelimutu National Park Center head Nuryadi to The Jakarta Post on Thursday.
Ende Volcanology Station head Gabriel Rago confirmed by phone the change in color of Kelimutu Lake.
'There is smoke on the crater and the three sections of the lake have changed color. We are monitoring developments. We are also advising people not to come close the crater due to the strong smell of sulfur,' said Rago.
