eputy House Speaker Fadli Zon says it is impossible for the government to reach economic growth of 5.8 percent by the end of this year with President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo's economic team.
Referring to the National Bureau of Statistics (BPS)'s recent report that the country's economy grew only 4.71 percent in the first quarter of this year, Fadli said the government's economic performance was far below its target of 5.8 percent.
According to him, the President has no other alternative but to reshuffle his Cabinet in order to achieve significant progress toward reaching the target of 7 percent in three years.
'If the government's economic minsters aren't performing well, then it's impossible for the President to achieve all the economic promises he made during the beginning of his leadership and during his campaign trail. Hopefully, things will get better after this,' Fadli said on Wednesday on the sidelines of a discussion in the lobby of the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) office. (++++)
