he Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation Center (PVMBG) has warned residents living close to Mount Lokon in Tomohon, North Sulawesi, of worsening conditions following a recent eruption.
Ferry Rusmawan, a PVMBG staff member at the monitoring post at Mt. Lokon in Kakaskasen, Tomohon, said residents living within the danger zone should remain cautious of possible lava, molten lava and hot ash spewed out by the volcano.
'The mountain's activity is increasing as a number of tremors have been detected. The danger zone is located at a radius of 2.5 kilometers from the mountain's Tompaluan crater,' Ferry said Friday.
The mountain erupted a few days ago, following an eruption in September.
