he Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) trained dozens of women from various backgrounds in Graha Sawunggaling, Surabaya, East Java, on Tuesday.
The event was opened by Surabaya Mayor Tri Rismaharini on Tuesday.
KPK deputy chief Adnan Pandu Praja and University of Indonesia law expert Ganjar Laksamana spoke at the event.
'This is one of our efforts to uphold the role of women in establishing a clean and corruption free society,' said Adnan on Tuesday as quoted by tempo.co.
The KPK deemed women as having a significant role in preventing corruption as mothers, wives and members of society. The program has trained a total of 200 Indonesian women in 13 provinces.
'The dangers of corruption are almost like the dangers of drugs,' said Tri Rismaharini. (fsu)(++++)
