Some 6,300 overseas employment placements were offered during a job fair organized by the Tangerang administration.
Tangerang Manpower Agency head Abduh Surahman said on Tuesday that placements were available mostly in South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Qatar, mostly in the manufacturing sector.
"[South] Korean companies offer a lot of employment opportunities because the manufacturing industry there is growing fast," Abduh said as quoted by Antara news agency.
He said that jobseekers should master at least the English language to help speed up adaptation to the local environment.
The job fair was participated in by 44 companies offering some 11,000 job vacancies. (++++)
