An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale hit Southwest Sumba in East Nusa Tenggara on Thursday.
'The quake didn't trigger a tsunami, but we need to stay alert for the possibility of aftershocks,' Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency Kupang head Sudaryono told reporters.
The epicenter of the quake was at 10.63 south latitude and 118.75 east longitude, or 130 kilometers southwest of Southwest Sumba, at a depth of 10 kilometers below sea level, at 11 a.m.(+++)
