Abdul, who was former president director of a company owned by Kolaka regency, was charged for corruption for his alleged involvement in the disbursement of company funds in the amount of Rp 600 million (US$44,943) to a regency official.
'During the testimony of the company's director of general affairs, who confirmed Abdul approved the disbursement, the defendant denied [the charge] and got emotional. He fell and his head hit his lawyer's desk,' the court's chairman Jaresmen Purba said.
Abdul lost consciousness and was then rushed to nearby Santa Ana Hospital. He died a few hours later, kompas.com reported.
