At least 12 flights serving Bali-Australia routes were canceled on Wednesday morning following an eruption at Mount Raung in East Java.
General manager of state-owned airport operator Angkasa Pura I Trikora Harjo said that the cancellations were made by two Australian airlines.
'The canceled flights were Virgin Australia and Jetstar flights,' he said as quoted by Antara news agency.
The flights serve routes between Bali, Indonesia and several cities in Australia, such as Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane.
Trikora, however, stated that the Bali airport was operating normally and that no domestic flights would be disrupted.
At least 227 domestic and international flights were previously disrupted, leaving more than 30,000 passengers deserted due to the eruption of Mt.Raung, which had forced the authority to shut down Bali airport from July 9 to 12. (ika)(++++)
