Padang's Tourism and Culture Agency plans to issue tourist recommendation stickers for all restaurants on Padang Beach to develop tourism in the area
adang's Tourism and Culture Agency plans to issue tourist recommendation stickers for all restaurants on Padang Beach to develop tourism in the area.
According to the agency head Dian Fakhri, he often received negative inputs regarding expensive food sold at the eateries that threatened the image of Padang tourism.
"The stickers will serve as guarantees that the restaurants are tourist-friendly based on assigned criteria and regulations. We want to avoid visitors feeling that they have forked out too much because the eateries will now provide a list of prices," said Dian as quoted by Antara news agency.
Dian acknowledged that most of the restaurants on the Padang Beach tourist area did not provide price lists for their food and beverages, which could later shock patrons when the bill arrived and they found out how expensive the food had turned out to be.
A tourist from Pekanbaru, Riswandi Jamil, 43, welcomed the new regulation from the local government.
"This is amazing because the government should care about public service. Other local governments should apply this kind of system as well," said Riswandi. (kes)(++++)
