Indonesian Diaspora Network (IDN) Global is set to held its third congress in Jakarta on August 12-14.

Themed "Diaspora Bakti Bangsa" (diaspora devoted to the nation), the 3rd Congress of the Indonesian Diaspora (CID) will discuss matters such as livable cities, health, higher education, the economy, dual citizenship, maritime issues and the young generation.

According to IDN Global president Mohamad Al-Arief, the event has received support from the Indonesian government through the Foreign Ministry.

"We expect the congress to not only facilitate discussion between the diaspora and the government and public figures in Indonesia, but also to highlight the diaspora's successful achievements such as promoting livable cities and dual citizenship," said Mohamad as quoted by Antara news agency on Thursday.

Up to 15,000 people are expected to attend the event from many parts of the world including the United States, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Qatar, China, and Australia.
