Film producer Ody Mulya Hidayat had no reservations about paying Rp 1.5 billion (US$112,880) to buy the film rights to Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika (Split Moon in the American Sky), a novel written by Hanum Salsabiela Rais and her husband Rangga Almahendra.

Your comments:

Filmmakers would be wise to invest their money and time. People get fed up watching the same predictable stories.

The President must help screenwriters or qualified writers produce magnificent films. Teachers of Indonesian should not be appointed if they are unable to write a poem or short story.

The filmmakers should consider including twisting plots, good music and more advanced technology in their works to draw viewers back.

Brave Sumatran

Try to make a storyboard with fewer loose ends and stop making populist commercial-religious-political nonsense.

Fix the terrible sound common to almost all Indonesian films, and perhaps a little experimentation in film language might kick-start a new trend.
