A committee tasked with selecting new commissioners for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) requested on Friday the assistance of the National Police's detective division in conducting detailed background checks on 48 candidates.
Committee member Yenti Garnasih said the committee had entrusted the National Police to track the past and present activities of the 48 candidates to prevent any chance of future criminalization.
Your comments:
I would suggest the selection team be made aware of all and any accusations made against any of the candidates. Scrutinize the investigations and ascertain how the candidates were cleared. Insufficient evidence for court prosecution doesn't equal innocence.
It would be better for everything to be cleared up now. It is vital for the future of Indonesia and the public are watching very carefully
indeed.
