Your letters: Sutan faces 11 years in prison

T

his refers to '€œSutan calls 11-year demand injustice'€ (The Jakarta Post, July 28, p4)

As a Democratic Party official and chairman of House Commission VII, he has claimed innocence and asked to be released from all charges. What he deserves is a harsh and heavy sentence of 11 years, as demanded by the KPK.

The Jakarta Corruption Court needs to put its foot down and ensure this man is locked up, like former Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Special Task Force (SKKMigas) boss Rudi Rubiandini, who received a seven-year prison sentence for accepting US$2.6 million in bribes.

Deputy KPK chairman Busyro Muqoddas said the KPK would work to reveal the mastermind behind the SKKMigas graft scheme. Excellent '€” Sutan is being prosecuted now and will be put away soon.
