Indonesia AirAsia X, the Indonesian affiliate of the Malaysian-based AirAsia Group that operates long distance flight routes, announced its new route serving Bali and Sydney, Australia, on Wednesday.

The airline fleets would start flying the route on Oct. 17, said an official statement by the company.

The new route, which has been approved by both Indonesian and Australian authorities, will be served five times a week by the airline'€™s Airbus A330-300 planes, on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, strengthening its operation in Australia, which currently connects Bali and Melbourne.

Another Indonesian affiliate, Indonesia AirAsia, currently connects Bali, Perth and Darwin.

The planes deployed by Indonesia AirAsia X have a capacity of 377 seats with 365 economy class seats and 12 Premium Flatbed.

Indonesia AirAsia X president director Dendy Kurniawan said on Wednesday that his office was happy to be able to develop connectivity to Australia'€™s east coast.

Sydney Airport president director and operation director Kerrie Mather said that Bali remained Sydney'€™s residents'€™ favorite destination.

To promote the new route, the airline offers promotional airfares for bookings made until Aug. 16 with prices starting from Rp 1.19 million (US$86.31) for economy class and Rp 3.99 million for Premium Flatbed from Oct. 17 to Aug. 31, 2016.
