'They have yet to resign as NTT councilors for the 2014-2019 period, as stipulated in the existing local election (Pilkada) regulations,' council speaker Anwar Pua Geno said on Thursday.
'As council speaker, I urge them to immediately tender their resignations. The NTT governor will then send their resignation letters to the Home Minister to get a decision letter on their resignations as NTT councilors.'
Kornelis, a councilor representing the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle, has been named as Ngada regent candidate. Meanwhile, Thobias, from the National Awakening Party, has received clearance from the West Manggarai KPUD to run as a regent candidate.
Abraham, a Gerindra Party politician has also been named as Sumba regent candidate.
