adjah Mada University (UGM) in Yogyakarta has been selected as the higher education institution with the best archive management, based on an evaluation by the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI) that assessed 20 universities from across the country.
Trailing in second place is the Surakarta State National University (UNS), followed by Bali's Udayana University.
'This achievement will lift our spirits to further improve our quality. The award will further spur and motivate archivists to provide better information and services,' UGM archive head Tristiana Candra Dewi said on Thursday.
The ANRI evaluation, according to Tristiana, covered several criteria, including archive management, standard operational instructions, institutional status and completeness of facilities and infrastructure.
UGM's archive office employes 19 people and manages tens of thousands of files, including 57,797 text files and 22,486 photos.
