65-year-old businessman, identified as Nelson Marbun, has died from injuries he received during a break-in at his house in Meruya Utara, West Jakarta, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Jakarta Police'€™s general crimes directorate chief Sr. Comr. Krishna Murti said Nelson had been killed and his wife Riris Marbun Boru Pasaribu, 63, injured after they disturbed robbers in their home.

'€œThe husband died as a result of 18 stab wounds to his hands, face, neck and the back of his head,'€ he said, adding that Riris also received head and hand injuries.

The victim'€™s body, Krishna said, had been taken to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital in Central Jakarta, where Riris was also receiving treatment.

'€œWe have questioned two domestic workers who were witnesses. We are now hunting for the perpetrators,'€ Krishna said as quoted by kompas.com.

Krishna said the police had identified likely suspects from the witness statements and clues from the crime scene.
