City Communication and Transportation Agency seized dozens of public transportation vehicles on Tuesday, after finding them without proper roadworthy documents at Kampung Rambutan bus terminal in East Jakarta.
At the same time, the police also ticketed many of the vehicles' drivers.
'We have sent 18 unroadworthy vehicles to garages in Pulogebang, East Jakarta,' said deputy head of City Communication and Transportation Agency Teguh Herman as reported by beritajakarta.com on Tuesday.
According to Teguh, his agency has received many complaints from residents about the poor condition of public transportation vehicles and the reckless behavior of their drivers.
'We will continue this operation indefinitely, assisted by personnel from the City Public Order Agency, the city police and the military,' Teguh added. (bbn)(++++)
