JAKARTA: Top Indonesian shuttlers in mixed doubles and womenâs doubles are aiming for top spots in the upcoming Denmark Open Superseries Premier 2015 and the French Open Superseries 2015 badminton championships
AKARTA: Top Indonesian shuttlers in mixed doubles and women's doubles are aiming for top spots in the upcoming Denmark Open Superseries Premier 2015 and the French Open Superseries 2015 badminton championships.
The Denmark Open, which offers a maximum of 11,000 ranking points for each winner, will be held in Odense on Oct. 13-18. Meanwhile the French Open, which offers 9,200 ranking points, will take place in Paris on Oct. 20-25.
The more points a shuttler wins, the better chance they have of grabbing a spot at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
World number two in mixed doubles Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir aims to retain the French Open title.
'We definitely aim for the title each time we compete. Nevertheless, we've nothing to lose and will give our best on the court,' Liliyana said in a press release issued by the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI).
Winner of the Korea Open Superseries 2015 in the women's doubles, world number five Greysia Polii/Nitya Krishinda Maheswari seem to be all fired up from their recent victory.
The Korea Open win is expected to be a mood booster for the pair in the two upcoming Superseries events.
