Tommy Sugiarto and Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir advanced to the finals of the Denmark Open Super Series Premier badminton championship in Odense, Denmark, only to lose out to their respective opponents on Sunday.

Tommy, as expected, succumbed to world number one Chen Long of China 21-12, 21-12 in the men'€™s singles contest. Mixed doubles pair Tontowi/Liliyana were beaten by Ko Sung-hyun/Kim Ha-na of Shouth Korea 20-22, 21-18, 21-19.

'€œChen Long was clever in navigating my shots. I tried hard but I failed to break his defense,'€ Tommy said, according to a release by the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI).

Things were happier in Taipei where the Indonesian team succeeded in sweeping four of the five titles on offer at the lower-tiered Taipei Open Grand Prix.

The honors were attained by Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo (men'€™s doubles, Sony Dwi Kuncoro (men'€™s singles), Anggia Shitta Awanda/Ni Ketut Mahadewi Istarani (women'€™s doubles) and Ronald Alexander/Melati Daeva Octavianti (mixed doubles).
