AKARTA: Singer Gita Gutawa has said she will return to Indonesia's music scene after recently completing a Master's program in economics at the University of Birmingham in England.
Gita is keen on applying what she has learned in the UK to advance the country's creative industry, according to tribunnews.com.
'I have a task to open discussion on creative economy. I want to apply my knowledge,' she said in Jakarta on Thursday.
The daughter of music composer Erwin Gutawa said she had gained different perspectives on music, film and art industries during her studies.
'In England, the music industry has developed well because everything [art and film industries] goes in the same direction. We see a different condition in Indonesia, where every industry goes its own way.'
