ome 2,000 of the best teachers from different levels and types of education across the archipelago are participating in today's Simposium Guru (Teachers Symposium) at the Senayan Sports Center to celebrate National Teachers Day, which falls on Nov. 25.
The symposium organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture kicked off on Nov. 24 with a series of events, including an exhibition of teachers' innovative work, competitions and education exhibitions outside the Sports center, according to Prasetyo of the ministry's directorate general of Teachers and Education Resources.
Of the 2,000 teachers, about 1,600 are regular participants based on prior achievements, while the remaining 400 joined the program by first registering online and preparing a paper and written report regarding their experience over the past two years.
The 2,000 teachers are divided into 14 groups. 'Ten teachers will deliver their paper in each group,' he told kabar24.com.
