AKARTA: Two girls thwarted an attempt by two alleged thieves, identified as RR, 28, and IR, 30, from stealing a mobile phone in Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, on Saturday.
Kebayoran Lama Police chief Comr. Agus Rizal explained that the victims, Nabila Syarifa, 16, and Dinda Mizan, 15, were riding a motorcycle on Jl. Dharma Putra, South Kebayoran Lama subdistrict, when the snatchers ' who were also on motorcycles ' approached and grabbed the mobile phone from Nabila's hand.
'Nabila and Dinda were not afraid. Instead, they immediately chased the fleeing suspects while screaming to attract attention, calling them snatchers,' Agus said, as quoted by wartakotalive.com, adding that the incident occurred at 5 p.m.
Agus added that the screams attracted residents and police officers who then joined the hunt.
