The Pontianak Customs Office in West Kalimantan has destroyed Rp 125 million (US$8,910) worth of illegally imported sex toys and pornographic DVDS confiscated by the government between 2012 and 2014.

Office head Noer Rusyidi said on Wednesday that the haul included 24 sex toys, 743 pornographic DVDs, 930 palm kernel expellers, one airsoft gun, eight bottles of alcoholic beverages, one spy camera and hundreds of illegal pills.

'€œWe have destroyed these products with the approval of the State Treasury Agency [KPKN], and Pontianak Auction Office on behalf of the finance minister,'€ he said as quoted by Kompas.com.

The items, Noer said, had been confiscated because they violated customs and excise laws, adding that they were classified as dangerous and morally degrading objects that risked corrupting the nation'€™s youth.

The products were smashed and burned, and any remains will be buried in a final disposal site in Batulayang, Pontianak. (liz/rin)(+)
