ctress-singer Maudy Ayunda has just launched a new single, 'Jakarta Ramai' (Crowded Jakarta), inspired by the notorious traffic jams and congestion in the capital.
'It is about someone daydreaming in the middle of crowded Jakarta,' 21-year-old Maudy said during the single's release in Jakarta on Friday.
As reported by kompas.com, Maudy produced the song in collaboration with noted guitarist Tohpati.
Maudy, an undergraduate student of Oxford University, said that through 'Jakarta Ramai' she wanted to show the stark difference between people's loneliness and the hustle and bustle of the metropolis.
'I see it as an interesting paradox. A person can daydream although many things are happening around him. Loneliness in the middle of the crowd,' she said.
