olice have buried the body of the Eastern Indonesia Mujahidin (MIT) terror group member, identified by the initial R, who was shot and killed in a shootout with police and military personnel in Poso on Jan. 15.
'We eventually buried the body as it has been at the hospital for a long time,' Central Sulawesi Police chief Brig. Gen. Idham Azis confirmed to The Jakarta Post on Tuesday evening.
Idham said the body had been buried by the Central Sulawesi Police medical authorities last week after being kept for a week at the Bhayangkara Police Hospital in Palu.
He said police had attempted to find the whereabouts of R's family to get them to fetch his body, but to no avail.
