ndonesia’s third president, Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie, popularly known as BJ Habibie, encouraged young generations to work hand in hand to produce a better Indonesia in the future. The remark was made during a gathering organized to observe Idul Fitri.
“The young generations were born into better conditions and that is why it has become your challenge to be able to produce a better quality of life for this nation ahead,” Habibie said.
Top politicians like House Speaker Ade Komaruddin, Golkar’s patron Aburizal Bakrie, Education and Culture Minister Anies Baswedan and actor Reza Rahadian, a member of the cast of Habibie’s latest biopic called Rudy Habibie, were all spotted at the venue.
Commenting on the gathering, Anies said that it was a good and noble tradition for the young to visit their seniors.
“This kind of tradition is worth preserving,” he said without elaboration.(dic)
