ustrian band Tasha Band and noted Austrian musician Hermann Delago are scheduled to perform at the Tuk Tuk open stage in Samosir, North Sumatra, on Aug. 27, free of charge.

Apart from performing Batak songs, they are also scheduled to collaborate with Batak musician Tongam Sirait in an Austrian-Batak rock performance, which will mix European music with Batak songs, in the form of pop rock.

“Their presence in Samosir in August gives all of us pride. It deserves appreciation, given their tight schedule in Europe,” Henry Manik, the tour manager of Austrian Batak Rock 2016, told The Jakarta Post.

He added that Delago’s participation in the planned 10-day tour in Samosir would satisfy his fans in Indonesia, especially following his successful concert in Medan and Samosir in August 2014.

He said Delago’s passion toward Batak music and culture was evident as shown through his musical activity in Austria in which he always performed Batak songs, which he rearranged according to the concept of his orchestra.

Henry also said with the support from the Samosir Culture and Tourism Agency, the planned performance would be included as part of the Horas Samosir Fiesta — Samosir Music International 2016.

“The event hopefully will increase tourism to Lake Toba and Samosir,” said Henry, who was born in Samosir but lives and works full-time at a company in the Netherlands.

The concert is also scheduled to perform in Jakarta at the beginning of September.
