udges at the Central Jakarta District Court told prosecutors in the trial of Jessica Kumala Wongso on Thursday to ensure they presented relevant staff from the Olivier café so that their testimony could be cross-checked against that of other employees.

Murder victim Wayan Mirna Salihin drank a coffee tainted with cyanide at the café when she met with suspect Jessica and another friend, Juwita Boon, also known as Hani, on Jan. 6. Mirna died on the way to hospital.

“We want prosecutors to always present Olivier staff members [during the trial] as we want to find out whether there is criminal responsibility [on the part] of the Olivier café management in this case,” judge Binsar Gultom said during the hearing on Thursday.

During the hearing, when Olivier barista Rangga and bartender Yohanes gave evidence, judges repeatedly asked prosecutors whether server Marlon Alex Napitupulu, who testified on Wednesday, was present.

The judges said they wanted to compare the testimony of each witness as some of the evidence was contradictory.

Meanwhile, prosecutor Ardito Muwardi said his side would fulfil the judges’ request. “The judges’ suggestion is good. Later we will ask all of the witnesses who have testified in the court to appear in the trial as requested by judges,” Ardito said.
