Guess what?: Nidji ready to compete with int’l musicians

J

AKARTA: Giring Ganesha, the vocalist of local band Nidji, says he and his band mates are optimistic that they can compete with world-class musicians.

“Nidji is not afraid to compete with bands from overseas. We’re confident that we are on the same level as them,” Giring was quoted as saying by kompas.com recently.

“We’re not afraid because we believe in our work and are confident that it is just as good,” the 33-year-old added.

Giring went on to urge other local musicians to have confidence in their talent. With more and more musicians appearing on the domestic music scene, Giring believes that the country’s musical talents are on par with those overseas.

“We believe the country’s music industry will reach a higher level day by day,” he said. — JP
