Indonesian racer from Riser ShaDaff team Barrichello Noor managed to put in a good performance at the Le Mans circuit in France on Oct. 13-16 under the senior category. Barrichello ranked 13th on the first day of the competition but slipped to the 15th position on the second day.

He lost the chance to race in the final round as the race regulation only rewarded the best 30 racers out of 123 racers from 53 countries. However, he acknowledged that his two-day performance had boosted his self-esteem.

“The opportunity to be able to race with Europe’s best racers has given me a huge lesson. God willing, I will perform better in the next race,” he said in a statement sent to The Jakarta Post on Thursday.

Team manager Toto Satianto praised his racer’s all-out performance, saying that the recent race was a huge opportunity for Barrichello to expand his skills.

After Barrichello’s departure from Le Mans, there are still two racers Sergio Noor and Silvano Christian, who plan to race at the Grand Final Rok Cup in Lonato and Sarno, Italy on Oct. 20 to 22.

Sergio, the youngest of all three, managed to record 0:55:36 seconds on the theoretic laps during the official practice session. He beat local champions like Chiappini Tomasso, with 0:55:612 seconds and Balzarotti Alessandro in third position with 0:55:615 seconds.

“I hope this result could continue at the race,” he said.

As many as 168 racers from 78 countries are slated to join the race.

The Riser ShaDaff motorsport team was the only Indonesian team that could send its three best racers to the European championships this year, thanks to support from its major sponsors: state telecommunications giant Telkomsel, energy drink producer Kratingdaeng and AJ Capital.
