antargebang Police in Bekasi, West Java, arrested 26 teenagers while allegedly readying themselves for a fight on Sunday. The police seized from the youths several sharp weapons in their possession.
"We arrested them for carrying sharp weapons, including two swords, three sickles, nine machetes, and a blade," said Bekasi Police spokesperson Adj. Comr. Erna Ruswing as quoted by Antara on Sunday.
The arrest was made following a joint patrol involving police and military personnel of crime-prone areas on Jl. Raya Siliwangi, Cileungsi, and Bantargebang.
The teenagers were later released after stating they would not repeat their actions, Erna said.
"They are mostly students. We will summon their parents and teachers to inform them about the case," she said. (dmr)
