he police in Kupang city have named Kalali village secretary in West Fatuleu district, identified only by the initials WS, 47, a suspect for his alleged role in the trafficking of four people who were forced to work as domestic helpers in Aceh.
“The suspects helped issue documents with false ages because the trafficked victims were underage,” Kupang Police head Sr. Adj. Comr. Ajie Indra Dwiatma said on Monday.
The secretary of Kupang regency in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Hendrik Paut, said WS would also face administrative sanctions.
“We have been working hard to curb human trafficking cases in Kupang, which has the highest number of instances among other areas in the province,” he said.
