he National Police will file a report with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) regarding a golden sword received as a souvenir from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The sword is a gift from Saudi Arabian King Salman Abdulaziz Al Saud. It was handed over to National Police chief Gen. Tito Karnavian by Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Indonesia Osama bin Mohammed Abdullah Al Shuaibi during his visit to the National Police headquarters on Feb. 27.
“We will tell the KPK about the souvenir we received,” National Police spokesman Rikwanto said on Monday, as reported by kompas.com.

The 1999 Corruption Law and 2002 KPK Law stipulate that all state officials must report any gift or money they receive to the commission within 30 days.
Despite the gift being handed to Tito, Rikwanto said the sword, which came inside a special box, was not a personal souvenir. The National Police would display it at the National Police museum in South Jakarta.
The souvenir was gifted by the ambassador prior to the arrival of King Salman. It symbolizes security and defense. The present aimed to strengthen Indonesian-Saudi Arabian relations, Rikwanto said.
King Salman and his entourage of 1,500 visited Indonesia on March 1 for a state visit in Jakarta and a holiday in Bali. They decided to extend their stay in Bali to March 12 from the initial plan of staying until March 9. (dis/rin)
