nly 34 out of a total 3,256 people who applied for the Corruption Eradication Commission’s (KPK) currently vacant adviser position have passed the administrative selection phase.
The selected applicants have various educational backgrounds, the selection committee said. Of the total, 11 applicants have a law degree and 11 others have a degree in organizational management. Meanwhile, eight applicants have a background in finance and four others have an IT degree.
Selection committee member Rhenald Kasali said the 34 selected applicants would be required to take psychological and health tests on March 11-12.
“Because health checkups have been arranged, we ask all applicants, especially those who come from outside Jakarta, to make sure they are ready on the days scheduled,” he said as quoted by tribunnews.com at the antigraft body’s headquarters on Jl. Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, on Monday.
Rhenald said all 34 applicants should get prepared for the tests. He also hopes that all members of society will play an active role by giving their opinion and any information about the applicants during the selection process. “We hope they give input and opinion about the selected applicants,” he said.
Imam Prasodjo, who heads the selection committee for the KPK adviser position, said there were various reasons thousands of applicants had failed to pass the selection process. Many of them did not fulfil the requirements concerning age, experience and expertise, he added.
Although many applicants failed to pass the administrative selection process, Imam said he appreciated the fact that many people were enthusiastic about joining the antigraft body.
Registration for the position opened on Feb. 11 and closed on Feb. 26. (dis/ebf)
