Jokowi to welcome Sri Lankan, South African leaders to tighten bilateral ties

President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo will welcome Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena and South African President Jacob Zuma on Wednesday at the State Palace to tighten bilateral ties.

resident Joko "Jokowi" Widodo will welcome Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena and South African President Jacob Zuma on Wednesday at the State Palace to tighten bilateral ties. 

"There will be state welcoming ceremonies in the morning and afternoon," State Palace media bureau head Bey Triadi Machmudin said. 

Indonesia, Sri Lanka and  South Africa have a very long history together. The three countries were the stakeholders of the Non-Aligned Movement. President Sirisena and President Zuma are attending the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) Summit in on March 5-7 along with several observer countries.

IORA member countries are Indonesia, Australia, Bangladesh, Comoros, India, Iran, Kenya, Madagascar, Malaysia, Mauritius, Mozambique, Oman, Seychelles, Singapore, Somalia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Thailand, United Arab Emirates and Yemen. (dan)
