tate-owned housing developer Perum Perumnas is going to start the construction of vertical housing at traditional markets and train stations in a bid to accommodate the high demand for housing from Jakarta residents.
Bambang Tri Wibowo, Perumnas president director, said Wednesday that his company would build apartments at three train stations in Greater Jakarta: Tanjung Barat in South Jakarta, Palmerah in West Jakarta and Pondok Cina in Depok, West Java.
“God willing, the groundbreaking would be carried out this April,” Bambang said as quoted by Antara news agency.
He added that Perumnas would also kick off the construction of rented low-cost apartments (rusunawa) in several traditional markets, including Cempaka Putih in Central Jakarta, Grogol in West Jakarta and Tanah Abang in Central Jakarta.
Bambang said the project was a part of President Joko Widodo’s one million houses program. (idb)
