ottled water producer PT Sariguna Primatirta is aiming for a 47 percent increase in sales to Rp 751 billion (US$56.39 million),  with net profit of Rp 47 billion by the end of 2017.

The company is eyeing an increase in its nationwide market share to 5 percent by the end of 2017 from its current market share of between 3 percent and 4 percent, said the company’s finance director, Lukas Setia Wongso, in Jakarta recently.

The company is working to expand its network and distribution through both internal and external channels to reach a wider range of customers, he added.

The company is developing factories in Ungaran, Central Java and Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi that are expected to start full operations this year to increase its production capacity by between 5 percent and 10 percent, he added.

“With investment of about Rp 10 billion to 20 billion, each plant will produce at least 100 million liters per year,” Eko Susilo, operational director of PT Sariguna Primatirta, said.

Melisa Patricia, vice president director of PT Sariguna Primatirta, said apart from expanding its core business, the company would also diversify by producing snack foods.

“We are preparing our plant in Cirebon to produce snack foods. We expect our snack products to be officially distributed to the market in June,” She added.

Lukas said the company expected the snack products to account for 10 percent of its sales target in 2017. (bbn)
