ommuter line operator PT KAI Commuter Jabodetabek (KCJ) is expected to reopen Klender Station this week after a fire tore through it on Friday.
KJC president director Muhammad Nurul Fadhila said Tuesday that his team was working hard to make sure that last week’s fire did not cause the station to be closed for too long, adding that he expected it could reopen no later than Friday.
“We are speeding up the repairs. Soon we can operate with six electronic gates,” Fadhila told reporters.
However, he refused to provide information on what was the main cause of the fire, stressing that the case was under police investigation.
“I don’t want to trespass on their authority as it is still under investigation. Let the police explain it to you,” he continued.
A fire broke out at Klender Station on May 19 at 7:30 a.m. One passenger identified as 20-year-old Riki Riana was injured. The East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency deployed nine fire trucks to the site and had extinguished the fire by 8:15 a.m.
