he operator of the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport train, PT Raillink, based on internal discussions on the fare for the train scheduled to be operational by the middle of this year, has estimated that the cost of the train could range between Rp 100,000 (US$7.51) and Rp 150,000.
"This fare range takes into account business considerations since we do not want to burden the state budget at all," Raillink spokesperson Diah Suryandari said as quoted by kompas.com on Friday.
Diah, however, said the fare rates had yet been finalized, with further internal discussions planned.
According to her, the fare for the passengers will depend on distance.
Airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II recently completed the construction of stations. Meanwhile, state railway operator PT KAI has nearly completed railway infrastructure. (dmr)
