cting Jakarta governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat has threatened to hand down sanctions to any civil servant that uses their official car during the Idul Fitri exodus.

“There will be sanctions [for civil servants that use their official car]. We’ll talk about the details later,” he said at City Hall on Friday.

Millions of people, particularly Jakartans, travel to their hometowns to celebrate Idul Fitri every year.  This year’s Idul Fitri is expected to fall on June 25.

“I am happy for them [civil servants] because they will see their extended family in their respective hometowns. But they are not allowed to use official cars,” Djarot said as reported by beritajakarta.id. (fac)
