resident Joko "Jokowi" Widodo will celebrate Idul Fitri in the capital city this year after celebrating the Islamic holiday during working trips outside Jakarta in previous years.
Jokowi was quoted in a statement published by the Presidential Palace on Saturday as saying he would attend the Eid prayer at the Istiqlal Mosque in Central Jakarta on Sunday morning.
"At Istiqlal," Jokowi said about his Idul Fitri plans on the sidelines of a visit to the residence of Solihin Gautama Purwanegara, the former West Java governor, in Bandung, West Java.
Solihin served the province as governor from 1970 to 1974.
Jokowi added that he would stay at the Bogor Palace on Idul Fitri eve on Saturday.
Jokowi celebrated Idul Fitri in Aceh in 2015 and in West Sumatra in 2016 during working trips. (tas)
