T

he management of the Green Pramuka City apartment complex has officially withdrawn its report against comedian Muhadkly, aka Acho, on Wednesday at the Jakarta Police headquarters in South Jakarta.

“We promise that today we will continue the mediation process between the management of Green Pramuka City and Acho,” the lawyer of the management group, Rizal Siregar, said as quoted by kompas.com. He added that the mediation process was facilitated by the Jakarta Police.

The report has been withdrawn from the police, while plans are in place to withdraw the case dossier at the Central Jakarta Prosecutor's Office.

The Green Pramuka City apartment management in Central Jakarta filed a report against Acho to the Jakarta Police for alleged defamation following his blog post in 2015 that lambasted the service and management of the apartment.

Despite having handed the case dossiers over to the prosecutor's office, investigators invited both parties to meet amid growing public outcry against Green Pramuka. The two parties settled their dispute in the second meeting initiated by the Jakarta Police last week.

Acho’s lawyer, Nawawi, said the decision to withdraw the reports was made after the two parties agreed on several things. Acho, for example, is reportedly willing to apologize to the management of the apartment complex.

The apartment management, meanwhile, admitted there were shortcomings in its facilities. (vny)
