n explosion occurred at a gas station near SMA Kapin high school in Duren Sawit district, East Jakarta, on Wednesday morning.

No casualties were reported, however an employee of the station identified as Zulfikar sustained minor wounds on his neck.

It was reported that around 8 a.m. seven gas pumps exploded.

"The gas station was serving customers when the incident occurred," said Comr. Nevo, Duren Sawit Police's criminal unit head, as quoted by tempo.co on Wednesday.

Material losses have yet to be calculated, he added.

The explosion was allegedly caused by an overheated pump monitoring machine, which had affected the pumps and triggered the explosion.

The police are questioning two of the station's employees, Jaka Desmanto and Ahmad Riyadi, Nevo said. (agn)
