South Tangerang Police spokesperson Adj. Sr. Comr. Victor Inkiriwang said a team from the National Police’s Forensic Laboratory Center (Puslabfor) had been conducting a forensic examination at the scene to determine the cause of the mysterious blast.

“While the investigation is ongoing, we have evacuated residents within a 10-meter radius of the blast site. We also urge the public to avoid any activity in the area,” Victor said on Friday.

He added that residents had been advised to temporarily take shelter at nearby village or subdistrict offices until the area had been declared safe.
