The alleged perpetrator, identified as Tessa Granitsa Satari, 34, was detained by police at the Crown Hotel in West Jakarta on Monday, kompas.com reported.
According to East Jakarta Police criminal unit head Adj. Sr. Comr. Sapta Maulana Marpaung, Tessa was stopped by Second Brig. Dimas Prianggoro on Thursday afternoon for attempting to enter dedicated busway lane.
When Dimas asked Tessa for his driver’s license and vehicle registration certificate (STNK), Tessa allegedly grabbed hold of the officer’s hand and drove off.
“Dimas was dragged 10 meters along the [busway] lane and broke his left hand,” Sapta said.
Tessa, a resident of Pondok Pinang, South Jakarta, is being detained at the East Jakarta Police headquarters.
His car has been seized as evidence.
