he Corruption and Eradication Commission (KPK) questioned on Wednesday former North Sumatra Legislative Council (DPRD) speaker Ajib Shah over an allegation that he had accepted bribes from former North Sumatra governor Gatot Pujo Nugroho.
Ajib is being questioned as a witness for suspects MFL [Muhammad Faisal] and FST [Ferry Suando Tanuray Kaban]," said KPK spokesperson Febri Diansyah as quoted by kompas.com in Jakarta on Wednesday. Both MFL and FST are DPRD North Sumatra members.
The KPK previously processed 12 leaders and members of the council, with the Medan Corruption Court having handed down prison sentences of between four and six years.
They were among 38 councillors named suspects by the KPK in March last year in the case.

The antigraft body began probing the case in 2015. In March last year, Gatot was proven guilty of giving a total of Rp 61.8 billion (US$4.6 million) worth of unlawful gifts to members of the DPRD North Sumatra to influence the deliberation of the 2014-2015 provincial budget.
